I like to finish off each workweek with a featured resource that I hope will add value to your life at work and improve your professional performance. This week I've got a great blogging site that features an excellent panel of talent gurus.
The Resource: Fistful of Talent (FOT)
What it Covers: FOT is the brainchild of prominent HR blogger Kris Dunn. Kris started FOT in 2008 as an extension to his HR Capitalist blog and serves Kris as a focused platform to explore talent management and recruiting issues in today's workplace.
Kris has amassed an impressive collection of active "recruiters, HR consultants, and corporate types" that contribute regularly to the blog on wide variety of topics including sourcing, performance management, employee engagement, on-boarding, employee retention, talent management, and leadership (just to name a few).
True to Kris' style at the HR Capitalist you'll find a healthy doze of pop culture tie-ins and even the occasional sports analogy which greatly adds to the reading experience at FOT.
Why You Should Check it Out: The thing I like most about Fistful of Talent is that blogging crew there is passionate about what they do, highly opinionated, and unafraid to take a controversial stand on an issue and support it intelligently. You may not always agree with what they are saying, but you can't help from seeing issues in a different light after a visit to the FOT blog.
Kris has assembled an excellent crew of 12 authors that brings a great deal of diversity and breadth to the blog. This in turn attracts an even more diverse crowd of readers, fostering a great deal of interaction among followers and creating a real sense of community within the site. The end result is a collaborative learning environment that benefits all who participate.
Bottom line, if you are interested in the world of talent management, the Fistful of Talent blog is a must read. Head over and check it out for yourself, and while you're there, be sure to subscribe to the blog so you don't miss any of the action!
