Happy Friday! I've got a great resource for you today to help Maximize Possibility in your organization and your personal life. Enjoy!
The Resource:Jim Jacobus' "Man-Up" 2010 Challenge
What it is: One Urban Dictionary entry for "man-up" defines the term as "being an adult male in the truest sense of manhood". That is what Jim's "man-up" challenge is all about - discovering what it means to be an adult male who exemplifies all the qualities of true manhood.
To clarify, Jim is not talking about how to be a man in the primordial sense of the term (think Bear Grylls), but rather his blog and "Man-Up" 2010 challenge is all about becoming a better father, husband, leader, co-worker, and community citizen who takes responsibility for his actions and seeks to improve himself and the world around him.
Why You Should Check it Out: Deep down I think most adult men have a strong sense of the duties and responsibilities they owe to society and those important individuals who surround their lives. However, we can easily become distracted and unwittingly stray from the path of true manhood. Jim's blog is here to help us all become better men.
Each week Jim shares a powerful life principle that will help you to become a better man in both your personal and professional lives. He will then challenge you to do some "homework" and use those thoughts and principles and make a conscious effort to apply them to real life.
I really love Jim's energy and his drive for self improvement. The lessons and principles shared through his Man-Up 2010 blog are simple, yet powerful, and will leave you with the desire to be a better man and arm you with another tool to do just that. Head over and check out his blog for yourself. If you like what you see, be sure to subscribe to his blog and you'll get email alerts when updates are posted to his blog.
